The Victoria Computer Club is a non-profit society that has been around for over 30 years – quite an amazing feat. The Club has re-located several times and now resides in a very central location (close to Tillicum Mall and Uptown). The clubhouse serves many purposes, but one of its most important uses is to allow members to meet each other and to share their enthusiasm for technology.
The Club meets on Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons and attracts members who drop in for help or just to chat.
The clubhouse also offers facilities for members who wish to explore specialized areas of interest. Members organize Special Interest Groups using the resources of the clubhouse. The clubhouse also hosts the computer lab and contains an extensive lending library of computer books and CD’s.
The Club offers a wide range of services to it’s members thanks to the participation of their systems volunteers who maintain the lab of Windows and Linux computers.
The Club website (created using WordPress) is also produced by volunteer club members and includes on-line HTML and PDF editions of the club newsletter in colour, forums, a chatroom, private messaging, and much more.
